Windows 7

When is end of support?

Support for Windows 7 ends January 14, 2020. There will be no more security updates or technical support for the Windows 7 operating system. It is very important that customers and partners migrate to Windows 10. Customers moving to a modern operating system will benefit from dramatically enhanced security, broad device choice for a mobile workforce, higher user productivity, and a lower total cost of ownership through improved management capabilities.

What does this mean to you?

It means you should take action. After January 14, 2020, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates or technical support for Windows 7. Security updates patch vulnerabilities that may be exploited by malware and help keep users and their data safer. PCs running Windows 7 after January 14, 2020, should not be considered to be protected, and it is important that you migrate to Windows 10 so you can receive regular security updates to protect your computer from malicious attacks.

Will my machine be able to upgrade to Windows 10?

We have yet to encounter a machine, with no hardware/software conflicts, that we haven't been able to upgrade to Windows 10

Can I upgrade it myself?

If you have the knowledge, yes. The process of upgrading from 7 to 10 is much easier than previous upgrade paths. We do not recommend updating it yourself if you are apprehensive about it in any way. When in doubt, give us a shout.
